Summer 2021: Front of Building Restoration Complete

The Paradise Historical Society is fortunate to have the historic building originally called the Paradise Academy built circa 1894 as the home for our developing museum.

Along with ownership of this magnificent building and the surrounding grounds comes the responsibility of maintaining this piece of history.

The building is over 125 years old, and while structurally sound, could easily fall into decline without some needed intervention. We have engaged a company competent to properly restore the cedar shingle siding and the unique windows. This is an expensive but necessary undertaking. Once this is complete, we will do further work on accessibility and interior repair.

We have applied for grants from the provincial and federal bodies that could help us with these projects, but we still need to contribute a significant portion of the funding.

Once we have done the physical restoration, we can offer the many programs we envision. We foresee a bright future for this unique Annapolis County heritage property.

Please help us by donating whatever you think you can so that we can complete this work. Heritage properties, once lost, can never be brought back. Our mandate is to preserve this one.
