The Paradise Historical Society has received this stunning donation to help us raise funds. We are so grateful to Bernadette Miller who generously “signed back” the quilt she won in our 2023 raffle!
This is a beautifully crafted Queen-size quilt created by our own gifted Paradise Village Quilters in the heritage pattern known as “Nine Patch”.
This pattern was fun to do because you could arrange a set of “nine patches” (count them) in so many ways. Count the rows, and take in the way that squares and diamonds blend. We love this quilt. Children often learned to quilt by sewing nine patches together and then deciding how to arrange them and how many to do.
No photos can do justice to the particular shade of blue in this quilt. It is not navy but instead, as the artist on our Board suggests, it seems somewhere between Cobalt Blue and Ultramarine Blue.
You really need to see it in person… and you can!
Our Heritage Centre is open Wednesday mornings from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon until November 13, 2024. The address is 10307 Highway #1 in Paradise.
Because it is a fundraiser, we are asking what the quilt is valued at, which is offers beginning at $1,000.00.
This quilt would be dazzling in any bedroom and would make a wonderful gift for someone special.
