The Paradise Village Quilters started in 1996 and has been going strong ever since. The group meets in the Paradise Community Hall and have produced many beautiful quilts for the joy of quilting and for charities, such as us.
They have lost some amazing ladies but have also had many new quilters join them in that time.
Each year we look forward to seeing the design and colours they choose. This year’s quilt has rich emerald and magenta tones.

100% Wool Hand-Hooked Rug
Value: $ 300.00
100% Wool Hand-Hooked Rug
Size: Approx. 31″ x 19″ (79 cm x 48 cm)
Made by Viola Doucette
Viola is one of the many talented rug hookers in our area who enjoy the friendship and learning of meeting and working together. She generously donated this so-Nova-Scotian hooked rug.
She and others in her circle have been very supportive of the Paradise Heritage Centre.
Each year at the Heritage Centre, we hold a Beginner rug hooking workshop with time and materials donated so that others can learn the craft and create their own work.
We love the friendly seaside feel of Viola’s rug.
The Paradise Historical Society is fortunate to have the historic building originally called the Paradise Academy built circa 1894 as the home for our developing heritage centre. Along with ownership of this magnificent building and the surrounding grounds comes the responsibility of maintaining this piece of history.
